This Sunday, December 20th, the number of migrant rafters, among minors and adults, who died near the Venezuelan coast rose to 33 after being returned illegally from Trinidad and Tobago. A week after the event, the bodies of Venezuelans who fled in search of a better future continue to be found.
The ambassador to Spain, Antonio Encarri, spoke about the increase in the number of victims of the Güiria shipwreck and assured that the country lives in pain.
“Every time we hear that other victims of the Güiria shipwreck appear, the pain and indignation grow for these Venezuelans who lost their lives looking for a future for their families,” he said.
The diplomat assured that the regime is indolent in the face of the suffering of Venezuelans that itself has caused and held the government of Trinidad and Tobago responsible for its xenophobic actions.
“Both are accomplices to the crime,” he sentenced.
