The Venezuelan Ambassador to Colombia, Tomás Guanipa, presented President Iván Duque with his credentials that accredit him as the highest Venezuelan diplomatic representative in that country.
After the ceremony in the Nariño Palace, Ambassador Guanipa affirmed that: “the Government of Colombia is and has been a great ally in the fight to restore democracy and recover freedom in Venezuela”.
Likewise, he pointed out that in the meeting with the Colombian Head of State they discussed the serious crimes against humanity committed by Nicolas Maduro’s dictatorship.
Likewise, both agreed on the importance of bringing them before the competent bodies (courts), so that those responsible have the punishment they deserve and the victims obtain justice.
Guanipa thanked Duque for the collaboration and support given to the Venezuelan migrants who have arrived to this nation.
“With the support of the Colombian Government, the Venezuelan diaspora that has fled from the regime has found a place to develop and contribute,” he said.
Finally, the Venezuelan diplomatic representative emphasized that both nations will continue cooperating to deepen and maintain the work of the Lima Group, to establish permanent communication with the Contact Group and the European Union, in the interest of consolidating a solid and clear strategy that allows freedom for Venezuela.
