The Venezuelan Ambassador to Colombia, Tomás Guanipa, condemned that Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship has used state funds to request and support the release of Alex Saab instead of allocating them to alleviate the Humanitarian Emergency that the country is going through.
“The regime of Nicolás Maduro, regardless of COVID-19, uses money from all Venezuelans to put on a show in Caracas to ask for the freedom of Alex Saab,” Guanipa said through a message on his official Twitter account. .
Alex Saab, Maduro’s front man and an accomplice of the regime, is detained in Cape Verde for the crimes of money laundering, illicit enrichment of individuals, conspiracy to commit a crime, aggravated fraud, and fictitious export or import.
“Saab is one of its most emblematic exponents of Chavista corruption, the corrupt defending the corrupt,” the diplomat concluded.
