The Ambassador to Colombia, Tomás Guanipa, reported that he asked Colombian officials to extend the decree prohibiting evictions from homes during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis.
Also, the representative of the Interim Government of Venezuela, headed by President (E) Juan Guaidó, reported that followers of Nicolás Maduro’s regime are holding demonstrations in Colombia with the aim of harming migrants.
“The infiltration of people who being part of the Maduro regime, come to Colombia and promote proposals and conflicts in moments like these, are making other citizens join and generate a climate of destabilization,” said the ambassador.
Guanipa warned that returning to Venezuela at this time would be “inconvenient,” since conditions in the nation have worsened and “the dictatorship intends to punish those who return because of the Covid-19 crisis.”
