The ambassador in Chile, Guarequena Gutiérrez, held a meeting with the Chilean deputy, Francisco Undurraga, to tell him about the changes in the procedure rules of the National Assembly that will allow assemblymen in exile to exercise their right to vote.
“Today we were with Congressman Francisco Undurraga explaining the change to the regulations of the National Assembly that will allow congressmen to vote while in exile,” the ambassador said through her Twitter account.
Gutiérrez said that Undurraga, “like many Chileans, has always shown his solidarity with the recovery of democracy in Venezuela.”
Ambassador Gutiérrez has focused her efforts on advocating for the improvement of processes, deadlines and other procedures, not only for Venezuelans but for all migrants in Chile who are waiting for the same deadlines in order regularize their immigration status.
Currently, more than 30 deputies have had to go into exile due to the violation of their parliamentary immunity by Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship through its various repressive bodies.
