The ambassador to Peru, Carlos Scull, expressed this Wednesday in an exclusive interview for the National Communication Center (CCN), his conviction that the new president in charge of Peru, Francisco Sagasti, together with his Purple Party, will continue to support the Venezuelan democratic cause, as they have been doing for some time.
Scull said that there is a climate of tranquility in the country since Congress voted for Francisco Sagasti to assume the presidency of Parliament and the presidency in charge.
The ambassador reported that is expected the creation of a transitional government whose main task will be to recover the economy and continue the fight against COVID-19.
“It is expected that there will be elections in April and then a new government that can take office as of July 28th (next year),” he said in his conversation with CCN Radio.
MORE SUPPORT FOR VENEZUELA
The diplomat considered that with the arrival of the Sagasti transitional government, will be maintained the support that the Purple Party has always expressed.
“We are waiting for the formation of the cabinet in order to continue the work for democracy in our country,” he said.
Finally, he sent a message to the Venezuelans. “The important thing is that all (Venezuelans) remain calm, that they feel safe that the Venezuelan embassy is going to work with the new Government to continue channeling the support of the international community towards our country, regain democracy and secondly work on behalf of the Venezuelan migrants, so that they can find the way to migratory regularization.” he ended.
