The ambassador to the United States, Carlos Vecchio, recalled this Thursday that the humanitarian crisis and the severe corruption of Maduro’s regime happened before the application of sanctions by the international community.
“Do not forget Jorge Arreaza that your Maduro’s dictatorship has stolen the resources of the Venezuelan people, turning Venezuela from a rich and well-being country into a poor nation with an unprecedented complex humanitarian crisis,” Vecchio said in a message published through his social network accounts.
The Venezuelan ambassador added that to this “you may add the ties of the dictatorship with international narco-terrorism such as ELN, FARC and Hezbollah as well as regimes such as Iran, Russia, Turkey, Cuba and China .”
“Stop looting Venezuela and open the doors to a democratic transition with free and fair elections, and respect for human rights,” he concluded.
