The Venezuelan Ambassador to the United States, Carlos Vecchio, described officials of Nicolás Maduro’s regime as ‘cynical’ for blaming third parties for the failure into which they have led the country.
“It is cynical that Nicolás Maduro and the corrupt leadership of his dictatorship are vaccinated and Venezuelans are denied vaccines,” he responded to Jorge Arreaza after blaming the United States for the crisis in Venezuela.
Vecchio reminded the dictatorship’s official how they have misappropriated funds from state companies and have supported countries like Cuba with Venezuelan money for ideological reasons.
“Cynical is that Gorrín along with Cilia’s children have stolen 1,200 million dollars from PDVSA. Cynical is that you have sent to Cuba in 2020, 800 million dollars in oil. Cynical is that Saab has stolen more than 350 million with the CLAP (food aid program),” he assured.
The ambassador reiterated that the corruption of the regime left Venezuela without a future, while stealing its money and human rights.
“The problem to buy vaccines is not financial. In 2021, the foreign exchange earnings of the dictatorship are higher than 2020. Arreaza don’t lie to us,” he snapped.
On the other hand, he denied that there is a participatory and representative democracy in Venezuela, as the government officials claim.
“The only thing that lives is your dictatorship. Participation belongs to those who are ‘enchufados’ (plugged in, well connected) and the leading role is held by the humanitarian tragedy that you created. History will condemn you,” he remarked.
