The ambassador to the United States, Carlos Vecchio, exposed the illegal and dictatorial activities carried out by Nicolas Maduro’s regime to profit from the hardships of Venezuelans in the face of the great health crisis that the world is experiencing due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Vecchio responded to Vladimir Padrino López and Jorge Arreaza, spokesmen for the regime, asserting that it is Maduro’s dictatorship that blocks humanitarian aid in Venezuela to solve the complex humanitarian crisis and takes economic advantage of Venezuelans stranded in different countries of the world, blocking air operations and allowing only trips with a stopover in Cuba to Venezuela by Conviasa and Turkish airlines at exorbitant prices.
“Today Maduro is the obstacle for more help to reach Venezuela. You know it (Vladimir Padrino) and the Armed Forces also suffer from it, as does the military family,” he said through his Twitter account.
The diplomat also highlighted the lucrative business that Maduro’s dictatorship created with Cuba, taking advantage of Venezuelans stranded in different countries in the region due to the cancellation of flights because of the pandemic, charging high prices for plane tickets for the safe return to Venezuela.
Vecchio denounced that Maduro’s dictatorship is profiting from the COVID-19 pandemic by selectively closing the air space, leaving Venezuelans stranded in different countries of the world, in order to force them to pay for tickets between 600 dollars and 1,000 dollars on a Cuba-Venezuela route.
“You can see the seams, Jorge Arreaza. You, along with the Cuban dictatorship, want to take advantage of everything and take advantage of the hardships and miseries that you yourselves inflict on the Venezuelans,” he said through his Twitter account.
The Ambassador reiterated that the criminal actions of the regime prevented the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from executing the loan and instead denied the resources.
“You steal everything, you see everything as a business from which to profit, you destroyed PDVSA, you destroyed the health system, you destroyed the country, and you want to continue devastating everything and generating pain, and the sanctions prevent you from stealing what is left,” he said.
