The Venezuelan ambassador to the United States, Carlos Vecchio, assured that the murder of Orlando Abreu in Peru is the consequence of the great crisis generated by Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship.
Vecchio said that Venezuelans have had the need to flee Venezuela, seeking safety and a stable future for their families.
“Venezuelan workers and entrepreneurs who have migrated seeking safety, help their families and the future that the dictatorship closes in our native Venezuela,” he said.
The diplomat demanded that the Peruvian authorities provide due justice to Orlando Abreu and his relatives.
“All the elements exist so that there is no impunity. We accompany the Abreu family in their pain, with the commitment to put an end to the roots of so much suffering in Venezuela,” he declared.
Orlando Abreu, a 27-year-old Venezuelan migrant, was murdered in the city of Trujillo in Peru when he refused to pay for protection at the place where he worked.
