The Ambassador to the United States (USA), Carlos Vecchio, thanked New Jersey congressman, Albio Sires, for his support of the Legitimate National Assembly (AN) and President (E) Juan Guaidó.
“His call to the international community to” redouble efforts “led by President Guaidó and Parliament to restore freedom and democracy in Venezuela, is a reflection of his long-standing commitment to our people,” he expressed this Wednesday through his personal Twitter account.
Sires said on Tuesday that it was a “dark” day for Venezuela when Nicolás Maduro’s regime took control of the National Assembly facilities.
The US representative recalled that the Venezuelan regime has committed crimes against humanity, has caused the economic ruin of the country and has created one of the greatest humanitarian crises in the world.
“The total destruction of democratic institutions is the fundamental principle of Madurismo,” he stressed.
Sires recalled that the international community has to support the freedom of the nation and redouble efforts to restore democracy in the nation.
“I am fully committed to supporting the Venezuelan people until they can elect their own leaders once again,” he concluded.
Nuestro profundo agradecimiento @RepSires.
