Continuing with diplomatic meetings “one on one”, the Venezuelan Ambassador to Canada Orlando Viera-Blanco, reported that he held meetings with the Ambassadors of Tanzania, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia and Australia.
“It has been a recurring activity this week to talk about the need to promote the diplomatic narrative for humanitarian aid for Venezuela taking into account the vulnerability of our compatriots to COVID-19. All our counterparts are very well informed of what is happening in the country thanks to the good offices of our diplomatic representatives. From Australia, through Africa and Southern Europe, they all have offered to raise their voices to privilege the defense of life and integrity of our children, women and the elderly. All those whose families are dismembered and forlorn by the departure, death or illness of their loved ones,” commented Ambassador Viera-Blanco
Furthermore, he indicated that every country has committed to participate in the Canadian Donors Conference to be held on June 17th of this year, where the nations of the world have expressed their desire to participate and help Venezuela.
“The Interim Government of President Juan Guaidó thanks the international community for its solidarity with our nation.”
The Ambassador took the opportunity of the meetings to underline the importance of international criminal justice and also, raise the voice in the search for political solutions that go through: free elections, supervised by the international community; the freedom of political prisoners; and the entry of humanitarian aid to Venezuela.
Some Ambassadors pointed out that: “the democratic world is with Venezuela and with its right to live in peace. Don’t give up on your fight! With your efforts and the international community Venezuela will once again be the example of prosperity and democracy that it was. We are with you…”
