The Ambassador to Canada, Orlando Viera-Blanco, held a new round of bilateral meetings with the Honorable Ambassadors accredited to Canada from Greece, Konstantina ATHANASSIADOU; Austria, Sylvia Meier-Kajbic; Croatia, Vice Skracik; Estonia, Toomas Lukk; and from Sweden, Eamonn McKee.
The ambassadors expressed their repeated support and appreciation for President Juan Guaidó as well as their commitment to maintain efforts throughout Europe in the search for political solutions to the crisis, without neglecting support for the humanitarian and refugee crisis.
“The world is aware of the worsening of the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela given the COVID-19 pandemic. Canada on June 17th has convened a World Donor Conference in solidarity with Venezuela, a conference in which each of the aforementioned countries will participate, plus a dense representation of American countries, the rest of Europe and the world will be present. Greece, Austria, Croatia Estonia and Sweden have confirmed their willingness to raise their voice in the European Union to achieve an electoral solution in our country through fair elections. We celebrate the renewed recognition that everyone has expressed to President Juan Guaidó Márquez,” reported Ambassador Orlando Viera-Blanco.
Canada continues to show its support for Venezuela, it recently approved a budget of 80.3 million dollars for the Venezuelan cause, to be spent both internally and externally in the country, as well as promoting rapprochement with America and Europe in the search for vaccines against COVID-19 and other humanitarian programs for Venezuela. Ambassador Viera-Blanco also informed that he will soon manage with NGOs in Canada to coordinate initiatives in support of our compatriots in the northern country.
