The Charge d’affaires of the embassy to Colombia, Eduardo Battistini, announced that this Wednesday began phase 2 of the historic Temporary Statute for the Protection of Migrants decreed by President Iván Duque.
“Integration, solidarity and positive migration” Mr. Battistini highlighted that these were the attributes this benefit will bring to almost two million Venezuelans.
Furthermore, the Venezuelan diplomat thanked the Government of Colombia for this effort and remarked that both peoples are brothers.
The Temporary Statute for the Protection of Migrants authorizes, among other things, to remain in Colombia under conditions of regular migration. In addition, it allows the beneficiary to exercise during its validity to perform any activity or legal occupation in the country, including those derived from a relationship or employment contract.
