“The people of Venezuela can be sure that we will not rest until we achieve a solution to the country’s crisis, and this is what the National Salvation Agreement proposed by President in Charge Juan Guaidó represents,” said on Thursday the Representative of the National Assembly in Panama, Fabiola Zavarce.
Let us remember that this week, the head of the interim government made the proposal as “the path agreed with the national and international allies to save Venezuela.” This agreement must be the conclusion of a negotiation process between the legitimate democratic forces that have international support, the regime and the world powers.
The inescapable points that this agreement must include are the following:
The holding of free and fair presidential, parliamentary, regional and municipal elections.
The entry into the country of vaccines against covid-19 and humanitarian aid.
Guarantees to all political actors.
Release of political prisoners.
And the progressive lifting of sanctions (conditional on the regime complying with the rest of the agreement).
Zavarce clarified that prior to this announcement by President Guaidó, he spoke with the international community and the United States, who support a comprehensive negotiation process that achieves a solution.
“As President Juan Guaidó has said, all Venezuelans must press together for this agreement, because it will only work if there is true commitment and international forcefulness, mobilization of the people, and unity of democratic factors,” said Ms. Zavarce.
