This Thursday, the Venezuelan Jennys Meizas was rescued after being the victim of kidnapping in the Bahamas, where she was held by unknown men, who were running a white slave trade ring and threatened to kill her.
The diplomatic headquarters of the Legitimate Government in the Bahamas intervened after the complaint that the young fellow national made through her Twitter account and coordinated actions with the authorities of that country to advance in the rescue and safeguarding of the Venezuelan citizen.
Ambassador Rafael Domínguez contacted the Bahamas Police Department, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and other authorities in the country, in order to provide immediate assistance in this situation.
“Regarding the complaint forwarded by citizen Jennys Meizas, a Venezuelan in the Bahamas, we proceeded in collaboration with said Government to search for her, receiving in time confirmation from the Island Police that citizen Maizas is safe and under their protection,” he informed through your Twitter account.
Domínguez confirmed the state of the Venezuelan citizen through a conversation that he had with the victim and the police department, who coordinated her departure from the island.
“We thank the Government of the Bahamas for its immediate collaboration in the face of this delicate complaint. We follow the progress of the process in detail and we will inform in a timely manner,” he stated.
