In the afternoon of today, Ambassador Fábio Marzano, Secretary of National Sovereignty and Citizenship Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, delivered to the Venezuelan Embassy in Brazil the note in which the Brazilian government accepts the extension of five years of expired Venezuelan passports, in accordance with the provisions of Decree number 6 signed on May 21 by President (e) Juan Guaidó.
The note states that the validity of all Venezuelan passports will be extended for five years from the expiration date and that both the Federal Police, responsible for guarding the borders, and the ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency) were notified of this decision.
This measure represents a great achievement of the management of Ambassador María Teresa Belandria in Brazil, after President Bolsonaro received his credentials on June 4. With this action, an important step is taken in the relations between the legitimate government of President (E) Juan Guaidó and the government of Brazil.
