The ambassador to the United States, Carlos Vecchio, spoke about relations between Nicolas Maduro’s dictatorship and Iran, a country that has been sanctioned by the United States for the last ten years.

The diplomat reiterated that Maduro’s regime intends to import a Middle East conflict into the region by strengthening relations with Iran.

Vecchio called on the international community, especially the countries of Latin America, to raise their voices against terrorism.

“Latin America must raise its voice against terrorism and do everything to preserve peace in the region. This does not go unnoticed on the world stage,” he said through his Twitter account.

The ambassador reacted to the arrival of Iranian tankers transporting fuel to Venezuelan territory and questioned whether, as one of the countries with the largest oil reserves in the world, Venezuela does not produce gasoline today.

“Sovereign and independent? A country with the largest oil reserves and does not produce gasoline. Vladimir Padrino sends the Sukoi to prevent boats from leaving for Cuba to plunder our oil,” Vecchio wrote on Twitter”
