Venezuelan Ambassador Orlando Viera-Blanco held a meeting with Canadian House of Commons member Michael Chong, where they discussed the current situation in Venezuela and the alliances between both nations.
During the talks, Chong expressed that the conservatives are deeply concerned about the Venezuelan people and the humanitarian crisis resulting from the political and economic crisis caused by Nicolas Maduro’s dictatorship.
Likewise, the member of the Canadian House of Commons reiterated that the Conservatives recognize Juan Guaidó as the legitimate president of the National Assembly and of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Likewise, the Canadian diplomat highlighted that the Conservatives support the imposition of sanctions by Canada against the people responsible for the crisis and the efforts for the return of democracy and the rule of law in Venezuela.
After the meeting, Viera- Blanco thanked Michael Chong through his official Twitter account for his support and recognition of the struggle for freedom and democracy represented by the government of Juan Guaidó.
