The ambassador to Colombia, Humberto Calderón Berti, highlighted the support and solidarity that the Colombian people have had with the Venezuelan migrants, who in spite of the adversities have received “with open arms” the citizens of our country.
The diplomat recalled that when a country generously welcomes Venezuelans, our citizens have an obligation to respect their institutions, laws and culture, adapting to their environment and being exemplary in their behavior.
“I think Venezuela will always have to remember this tragedy as something that engages us with Colombia tremendously. I believe that what Colombia has done for Venezuela, very few countries in the world have done for other nationalities. 1,600,000 people in a country that has its own shortcomings (…) it takes a lot of effort,” he said during an interview on the La Tarde program of the Colombian media, NTN24.
Calderón Berti spoke about the infiltrators in the social protests that have taken place in different Latin American countries, assuring that “they are part of a design of the Sao Paulo Forum with the Venezuelan regime’s government that aims to destabilize the region,” he added.
“There is a purpose and the political will to destabilize the region and I am not inventing this, the one who follows the Venezuelan television knows perfectly well what they are proclaiming, that the (Bolivarian) breeze is going to run through all the countries and it is going to turn into a hurricane, etc.,” he said.
