The ambassador to Peru, Carlos Scull, categorically rejected the sources of discrimination that Venezuelans have suffered in the country, as well as political activists exiled from the regime of Nicolás Maduro.
The diplomat expressed his solidarity with Oscar Perez Torrez, president of the NGO Unión Venezolana in Peru and Paulina Facchin, a political exile in Peru for the xenophobic attacks and false allegations that they have suffered in the city of Arequipa in the Inca country.
“We know that Peru is a brother country and that these are acts that do not represent the great majority of Peruvians”, he said through his social network accounts.
The embassy in Peru presented a document to the Ombudsman’s Office rejecting the various sources of segregation that have been occurring in the Peruvian territory.
“We appreciate the work of the authorities and the commitment to our community to investigate these deeds”, the embassy requested.
