The Ambassador in Panama, Fabiola Zavarce, received this Saturday in Panama City the elected president of Guatemala Dr. Alejandro Giammattei, after being expelled by the Maduro regime in Venezuela. Pres. Giammattei planned to hold a meeting with President (E) Juan Guaidó.
“Although they have not let us in, our voice will be heard throughout the continent, I am with President Juan Guaidó”, said the Guatemalan president.
For her part, Ambassador Fabiola Zavarce referred to the events as strong evidence that the regime only opens the doors to terrorism and drug trafficking: “We are the voice of those who have no voice, it is not an option to remain silent in the face of so many violations”.
Zavarce said the regime’s actions show a “huge weakness”. “Closing the door to a president will not make the international community change its position on Maduro, on the contrary, it is more evident that he is a dictator”, she added.
“The president of Guatemala, Alejandro Giammattei, becomes a strong voice against the dictatorship in the region and in the world. Venezuela has an undisputed ally, a great defender of Human Rights and freedom throughout the continent”, said the ambassador.
“This international support that President Juan Guaidó has will continue to increase and the siege against the dictatorship will continue to tighten until it allows a democratic transition that will give the Venezuelan people their chance to freely choose”, concluded the diplomat.
