The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) appointed Esmeralda Arosemena de Troitiño as Rapporteur for Venezuela. This was reported by the office of the Presidential Commissioner for Human Rights and Care of Victims, Humberto Prado.
In light of this, Commissioner Prado welcomed the incorporation of the new IACHR Board of Directors “who will carry out the work of documenting the defense and protection of human rights in the inter-American system,” the representative said through the official Twitter account.
The Board of Directors of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights is composed of the President, Esmeralda Arosemena de Troitiño; the First Vice President, Joel Hernández García; and the Second Vice President, Antonia Urrejola Noguera.
Arosemena and the rest of the board of directors will maintain their positions until December 31st, 2021.
