The executive secretary of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights of the OAS, Paulo Abrao, informed this Friday that they will open an individual petition for the case of councilman Fernando Alban, who was tortured and killed by order of Nicolás Maduro’s regime, after being arbitrarily detained upon his arrival in Venezuela.
“The Commission opened an individual petition in the case of Fernando Alban. A very serious case in which there are flaws in the process,” said Abrao.
Similarly, the executive secretary of the IACHR reported that they received new evidence on the Alban case.
“Their lawyers gave us documentation that shows the deplorable conditions of his last days, which helped us to complement information that we had already been studying,” he said.
“We are going to process this case very carefully at the IACHR,” he ended.
