The President of Argentina, Mauricio Macri, ordered the expulsion of diplomats from Nicolás Maduro’s regime from Argentine territory after recognizing Elisa Trotta as the plenipotentiary ambassador of Venezuela, whom was appointed bythe president in charge, Juan Guaidó.
The president informed his stance regarding the situation in Venezuela and ordered that the legal permanence of the representatives of the Madurist dictatorship not be renewed.
“The Argentine government recognizes Mrs. Elisa Trotta as the legitimate head of the Representation of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in our country”, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday in which it said it will also fulfill consular functions.
Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie received the style copies of Trotta’s credentials on Friday, the statement said.
Macri considers it necessary to open a democratic transition that ends the social and economic crisis in Venezuela.
