U.S. Senator Marco Rubio celebrated Thursday the anniversary of Juan Guaidó’s swearing in as interim president of Venezuela.
“President Trump and more than 50 other countries joined in support of Guaidó as the only legitimate leader of his country,” the U.S. representative said via his official Twitter account.
Rubio also recalled that on January 23, 2019, Nicolas Maduro was declared an illegitimate president by the Venezuelan National Assembly.
“The struggle for a free Venezuela continues and will not cease,” the Senator concluded.
The United States has been one of the main allies of the legitimate government of Guaidó and has supported the democratic plan that seeks to bring Venezuela to democracy.
