Michael Kozak, acting Undersecretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, supported this Friday the multiple demonstrations and protests of different professional sectors in Venezuela.
“The long-suffering people of Venezuela protest and demand change day after day. Last week, doctors, nurses and teachers marched. This week: lawyers and engineers. Despite threats and oppression, everyone is marching for a better future,” Kozak said through his personal Twitter account.
Health, education and public sector professionals have been actively demonstrating for months against Nicolás Maduro’s regime for the devaluation of salaries, the lack of payments, the deterioration of the institutions in which they work and the lack of access to a dignified life.
Kozak concluded in his message that: “The disaster of Maduro must end”.
