The Commissioner of the OAS General Secretariat for the Crisis of Venezuelan Migrants and Refugees, David Smolansky, thanked the Government of Colombia for opening a new period to apply for the Special Stay Permit (PEP) that will benefit thousands of Venezuelans.
“Today, Migration Colombia opens a new period of time to request the Special Stay Permit (PEP) to Venezuelans who have entered that country until Nov 29th, 2019,” said Smolansky through his official Twitter account.
For this reason, the Venezuelan diplomat expressed his gratitude to Colombian President Iván Duque for his constant solidarity with Venezuelan migrants and refugees.
Smolanksy said that currently there are about 900,000 Venezuelans in Colombia without a Special Stay Permit (PEP).
“This resolution of migration Colombia will allow the regularization and integration to the labor markets of many Venezuelans who until now could not work, as well as guarantee a safer and more regular migration,” he concluded.
