The government of Spain expounded on the murder of the leader Edmundo Rada, who served as councilor of the municipality Sucre, in the city of Caracas.
Through a statement, the Spanish government condemned the cruel murder of Rada, who was a member of Voluntad Popular political party. In addition, it asked the competent authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the violent circumstances in which the councilor’s life was taken.
The request remained focused on clarifying the murder and identifying those responsible for it, so that they can be brought to justice.
Spain insisted on the importance that the entities that address the investigation apply the recommendations made by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), regarding the prevention and punishment of human rights violations in Venezuela.
