The Acting Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs of the United States, Michael Kozak condemned the parliamentary coup d’état carried out by Maduro’s dictatorship against the National Assembly.
“Juan Guaidó remains the interim president under the Venezuelan Constitution. The false session of the National Assembly held this morning lacked a legal quorum. There was no vote,” Kozak said in a message on his Twitter account.
“The desperate actions of Maduro’s regime, to illegally and forcibly prevent Juan Guaidó and most of the deputies from entering the building, make this morning’s ‘vote’, lacking a quorum and not meeting minimum constitutional standards, a farce,” concluded the U.S. official.
