First Vice President of the National Assembly, Juan Pablo Guanipa, called the Maduro regime’s impediment to Venezuela a “cowardly actor,” according to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR).
“Once again, they were left before the world as dictators,” he said on his Twitter account.
The deputy reiterated the support of the National Assembly and by unanimous vote for the re-election of OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro for the period 2020-2025.
“We have an unwavering commitment, our actions are key to continue building the road to freedom for our country and its reconstruction,” he said.
Guanipa said that despite the violence and persecution, the National Assembly is resisting and moving forward.
“We know that today the regime tried to hide a truth that we have been denouncing for years: the systematic violation of human rights of Venezuelans,” he said.
