Williams Davila, Mérida’s deputy to the National Assembly, admonished that it is time to stop threatening and act with respect to the implementation of TIAR, because in his opinion, the only thing that delays bring with them is that Nicolás Maduro’s misgovernment buys time to stay in power.
In the radio program República Ciudadana, broadcasted by Radio Sintonía and hosted by Cástor González and Rubén Roca, the legislator affirmed that he is not a man of selfies nor of pretending, but a Venezuelan who works hard for Venezuela.
In this regard, he added that the meeting of the consultative body of the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance (TIAR) is scheduled for December 5th, and that it is hoped that more sanctions will be applied against this corrupt misgovernment’s through the freezing of accounts, arrests of persons identified as criminals for human rights violations, and crimes against humanity.
TIAR signatory countries must stop giving time to the regime. Furthermore, the international community cannot continue to be complicit in the strategy of those who usurp power in Miraflores who pretend to continue to oxygenate themselves with the delay in order to act against the Venezuelan people, he warned.
In another vein, he stressed that more than five thousand Venezuelans have been murdered on the Colombian-Venezuelan border on the Venezuelan side.
“As long as we continue with a regime that protects and supports the criminal actions of these paramilitary groups, and as long as we have a regime that protects impunity, those organizations that participate in the drug trafficking chain will not give peace to the region,” he said.
When asked about an eventual electoral process, he said that it is necessary to negotiate incentives for military personnel affected by misgovernment and make them understand their role in society and in the historical process that Venezuela is undergoing.
