For the deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Omar González Moreno, “Latin America must ‘vaccinate’ itself through the TIAR”, this in view of the growing danger that constitutes the Venezuelan situation for the entire Hemisphere. The parliamentarian was emphatic in warning that “usurpation in Venezuela is a continental threat.”
He affirmed that the activation of the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance (TIAR) is a correct step not only within the direction of the Courage Route, promoted by María Corina Machado, but as part of a continental protection policy. The legislator said that Latin American democracies have been threatened by the anomalous reality in Venezuela.
“What we suffer in the country is not only a problem for Venezuelans, but it has become a risk for the entire American continent. Since the usurpation has unleashed the strategy of hemispheric destabilization and we are seeing it with the protection that Maduro makes of terrorist groups such as the Colombian FARC.”
He added that the alleged links of the Maduro regime with organizations such as Hezbollah and drug gangs are clear evidence that the national territory has been transformed into a “nest of criminals of all kinds.”
Omar González Moreno indicated that the Venezuelan crisis implies much more than the consequences of emigration to Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, and many more countries, but it has a threatening feature for the peace of all Latin American nations.
The Assemblyman said that the same mobilization of Venezuelan military personnel to the Colombian border is “a provocation” that constitutes a way to destabilize the Hemisphere and divert attention from international public opinion.
He stressed that the position of the countries that make up the Organization of American States (OAS) to advance in the TIAR could mean the “beginning of the end” for usurpation in Venezuela.
