The Chairman of the Finance Committee of the National Assembly, Carlos Paparoni, welcomed the decision of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the United States Department of the Treasury to sanction the deputies involved in the attempted coup against Parliament.
“Now Luis Parra, José Brito, Franklyn Duarte, Negal Morales, Conrado Pérez, Adolfo Superlano and José Noriega are on the list of those sanctioned for corruption. From now on, they will go on just cash, just like the narcos. This is just the beginning of the path they chose. Crime doesn’t pay. Traitors!” said Congressman Paparoni.
Paparoni indicated that “this is only the beginning of the path of those who sell their conscience for a bundle of dollars and betray the people who elected them. The greatest betrayal by these deputies was against the people of Venezuela, their voters and a country that is crying out for a better future where there are no electrical failures, where people do not die of hunger, malnutrition or lack of medicines in hospitals,” he concluded.
