When a democratic political model in Venezuelais establishes, the actions to implement the Agrifood Country Plan will begin, which will allow the recovery of the primary and agro-industrial sector, supply markets and the production of various agricultural items for the food supply of Venezuelans.
As was stated by the deputy before the Venezuelan parliament Ezequiel Pérez Roa, who raised the urgency and necessity to “incorporate agro-technicians in different disciplines, peasants and retired military with a vocation for service in that field of work in order to boost production” .
“Venezuela has fertile lands, great wealth of water resources, human talent to boost national production. However, only a change of government is missing to implement programs that in the short, medium and long term produce proteins such as: chicken, eggs, fish, meat, milk, and also, cereals, vegetables, fruits, edible oils, panela, sugar, coffee, etc.”, he said.
For the recovery of national production it proposes: Granting fertile land titles through supervised loans; creation of service companies; reactivation of extension programs for the training of agricultural producers, in order to obtain knowledge of new techniques and planning of land use, among others.
Likewise, Pérez added the priority of guaranteeing farm workers agricultural supplies for production, construction, rehabilitation and permanent maintenance of agricultural roads, offer quality education and training plans to the rural population, provide health services, protection of peasants and their lands by the competent authorities.
He argued that these proposals will aim to meet productive and social needs, since farmers and farm workers must have good conditions that guarantee permanence and income for a better quality of life for their families.
“A well fed people will have children with capacity for learning and, therefore, they will be men and women with very good physical and mental conditions for the work that will lead to national reconstruction”, he said.
