This Monday is scheduled to start the public and oral trial of Congressman Juan Requesens, who has been kidnapped by Maduro’s dictatorship for 475 days.
Also, the father of the congressman advocated for his immediate release and assured that “hopefully it will be accomplished. There is only one decision: Freedom because he is innocent. There is no despair here. Son, you are not alone.”
Meanwhile, the presidential commissioner for the United Nations, Miguel Pizarro, recalled that “the TSJ and Nicolás Maduro have violated his human rights and his rights as a parliamentarian and intend to sentence him under false accusations and without evidence.”
“Venezuelans and the world know that Juan Requesens is innocent, which is why the UN Human Rights Council has ruled that Juan should be released. Brother, we will not surrender and we will not bend; we continue fighting for the freedom of our country,” Pizarro added.
The former governor of Miranda State, Henrique Capriles Radonski, stated that this “is a process that should never have existed because Requesens is innocent. Juan, justice will be done and sooner rather than later you will be free, as it should always have been. Force brother!”
In this sense, Rafaela Requesens, sister of the congressman, stressed that “the regime of Nicolas Maduro intends to sentence him without any evidence against him and violating his fundamental rights.”
Finally, Congressman Tomás Guanipa also expressed his solidarity with Requesens. “The U.N. group has already decided and demands its freedom like the rest of Venezuela. Juan is innocent, and this process has been characterized by irregularities and violations of his rights,” he concluded.
