Congressman Juan Pablo Guanipa, first vice president of the National Assembly, held a press conference at the headquarters of Acción Democrática this Wednesday where he invited the citizens of Caracas to commemorate January 23rd, 1958 at the Peace Shell in El Paraíso this Thursday at 10 a.m.
At the same time he indicated that the deputies will be deployed in their regions to carry out various activities on the occasion of that date and stressed that the struggle for democracy must be vindicated.
Likewise, the parliamentarian informed about the mobilization for next Tuesday, January 28th, which will have as its destination the seat of the National Parliament, with the objective of entering the Federal Legislative Palace and holding the session corresponding to that day.
In another vein, the representative of the state of Zulia expressed his condolences to the Valero family for the death of the deputy for the state of Mérida, Addy Valero, due to cancer.
He stressed that the Congresswoman Valero refused to vote on January 5th against her democratic values and recalled her last words on the matter. “I may die, but the present resentment will not die in my hands”.
She also denounced the arrest of congressman Ismael Leon and his assistant after trying to attend the National Assembly session held Tuesday in the Plaza de Cumbres de Curumo, Baruta municipality.
“Ismael León is being held by Maduro’s dictatorship. Nicolás, you are a coward because you are not willing to let the people decide what destiny they want for Venezuela. You want to impose your dictatorship on us, but both the people and the international community are not going to allow it”.
He warned that Congressman Leon must comply with medical treatment, for that reason the current situation in which he is can be fatal to his life, Guanipa said. “Anything that happens to Ismael Leon is the responsibility of the dictatorship.”
At the same time, I repudiate the taking of the building where the offices of interim president Juan Guaidó are located, in the east of the city, by state security forces.
In view of this, he said that the democratic deputies are prepared for the persecution and at the same time, they are determined to give their best efforts so that Venezuela finds its freedom, said finally Juan Pablo Guanipa.
