The Presidential Commissioner for Foreign Affairs, Julio Borges, alerted the international community on Friday about the new maneuver of Maduro’s dictatorship against the National Assembly to revoke the parliamentary immunity of four deputies, and thus hinder the election of the next Board of Directors of the Assembly.
“We alert the Organization of American States (OAS), the European Union (EU) and the Lima Group of a new maneuver of the regime against the NA, they intend to revoke parliamentary immunity of 4 more deputies,” Borges said in a message through his official Twitter account.
Furthermore, the Venezuelan diplomat assured that the dictatorship seeks at all costs to destabilize the next election of the Board of Directors of the National Assembly, scheduled for January 5th, 2020 in order to remain illegitimately in power. “This action is linked to assaulting parliament #5E (Janury 5th),” he said.
Finally, Borges referred to that there are “more than 30 deputies affected by measures of persecution of the regime”.
“Since they have not been able to forestall national and international recognition of the NA, they seek to dismantle it by attacking its members. We cannot allow it!” he concluded.
