The First Lady of the Republic, Fabiana Rosales, stressed this Friday that despite the fact that Nicolas Maduro’s regime released journalist Victor Ugas, he became a victim of human rights violations in Venezuela.
“Journalist Victor Ugas should never have been imprisoned. Today he can be home again, with his family. Another human rights violation by the dictatorship,” said Rosales through her personal Twitter account.
Ugas was unjustly arrested by Maduro’s dictatorship on Dec. 20th, 2019. He was accused of being involved in the assault on the 513th Infantry Battalion in the Gran Sabana.
The non-governmental organization, Espacio Público, remarked: “Officers of the Faes took him early in the morning to his residence and he cannot give any statements to the media”.
