The elected president of Guatemala, Alejandro Giammattei, arrived in Venezuela on an official visit, to personally express his administration’s support to the legitimate government of Venezuela, led by the president in charge, Juan Guaidó.
The visit meant an act of historical support by the Guatemalan president, who demonstrated with deeds the solidarity expressed earlier towards the process that Venezuela is going through for the recovery of its democracy. Likewise, the support of the international community, who has recognized the struggle of the interim government for the democratic cause in Venezuela.
Reacting to the presence of the president-elect of Guatemala, Nicolás Maduro’s regime acted with the violence that characterizes it, preventing the president from entering the country. An action that must be condemned by the international community, for the abhorrent treatment of a president.
The Legitimate Government of Venezuela ratifies to the international community the intention of continuing to seek together the necessary actions to promote change in Venezuela.
The Government presided by Juan Guaidó acknowledges and thanks the courage of President Elect of Guatemala, Alejandro Giammattei and condemns the outrageous treatment he received by Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship.
