“There is only one legitimate Power in Venezuela and it is the National Assembly. The return of the Psuv is the recognition of the strength of Parliament’s as the only legitimate power”, said the President (e) of the country, Juan Guaidó, after the reinstatement of the deputies of the ruling party.
The statements were made during the ordinary session this Tuesday, September 24th, there where three draft agreements that were discussed; and where he also said that it was “good” for them to return to the AN because a minister had not been in a hearing in a long time (alluding to Francisco Torrealba, former Labor Minister and who was elected deputy on December 6, 2015).
The President of Parliament also said that with the “implicit and explicit recognition of the AN”, the officials recognize that the solution to the crisis in Venezuela passes through the legislative branch.
“If today there is an implicit recognition of this Legislative Power, then they are recognizing, as Europe does, that the solution passes through the national Parliament. If they are recognizing Parliament, they have to recognize the parliamentary immunity of Juan Requesens, for example.”
He also indicated that “the alleged contempt (of the AN) does not exist”, they have debated it in infinite opportunities, and this Tuesday was demonstrated once again. He said he expects a “constitutional attitude, of respect”, in search of a solution to the problems afflicting Venezuelans.
“If they come in to sabotage, they will also be exposed to the world. They all will lose. Let them come to the AN and answer to the people, not me, I did not vote for them, nor would I vote; that they answer to their people, the ones who voted at some point for them”.
Without losing focus
President (e) Guaidó said that one should not lose the north of the struggle in Venezuela, which is the immediate solution to the crisis and the Complex Humanitarian Emergency that is in the process of becoming a humanitarian catastrophe.
“Let’s frame responsibilities; let’s talk about solutions. I do not know if they were told about the proposal we took to the Kingdom of Norway that goes through free, fair and verifiable presidential elections; attention of the complex humanitarian emergency, separation of office (of the President). Let the people of Venezuela decide.”
He recalled that who left the Norway sponsored mediation was the regime.
He pointed out that at this moment “the most important thing” is to tell the world that the pressure must be increased, that progress was made with the TIAR consultative body, and that internal pressure will be advanced.
“Today there is a political moment in Venezuela to assume responsibilities and seek solutions.”
Finally, he welcomed the first vice president of the AN, Edgar Zambrano, who reincorporated on Tuesday after he was released a week ago, after being abducted for four months by the regime.
