The Presidential Commissioner for the Government Center, Leopoldo López, supported educators and teachers in their struggle for their rights in the face of the educational crisis that plagues the country.
Lopez expressed admiration for teachers who protest demanding salary and labor improvements.
“My absolute support for our teachers and professors who are peacefully and forcefully demanding their rights on the streets”, he said through his Twitter account.
The Venezuelan leader said that Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship of has not only impoverished the country but also wants to end free education in Venezuela.
The Venezuelan Federation of Teachers called for a 24-hour national strike throughout the country, demanding salary improvements, basic services and new infrastructure in the schools.
