The Presidential Commissioner for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Julio Borges, said that the update of the report issued by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, ratifies the allegations made by the legitimate government on the usurping dictatorship.
Borgues said that this report “ratifies the allegations we have made about how the dictatorship kidnaps FAN members and how they killed Captain Acosta through torture.”
“This new report on Maduro’s crimes must be made visible to everyone, the regime does not respect human rights”, he said.
TORTURE AND MURDER OF CAPTAIN ACOSTA ARÉVALO
During the intervention of Michelle Bachelet in the Human Rights Council, Bachelet referred to the case of Captain Acosta Arévalo, who precisely was arrested while the Chilean ex-president was visiting Venezuela.
“The autopsy of the Frigate Captain Arévalo, who died in custody on June 29th, revealed that he had suffered multiple blows, bruises and burns in various parts of the body. He suffered the fracture of 16 ribs, the nasal septum and the right foot. The authorities reported that two DGCIM officers had been charged with pre-intentional homicide, but not for committing torture”, he said on Monday.
