President (e) Juan Guaidó and several dozen deputies managed to enter the Legislative Palace and regain control of the National Assembly after the deputies of Nicolás Maduro’s regime managed to seat themselves after the assault on Parliament.
After struggling with members of the dictatorship’s National Guard, the president managed to get through the area surrounding the Legislative Palace.
In the immediate vicinity there was pushing and shoving and violence before Members could reach the Chamber. Once inside and after singing the notes of the national anthem, Guaidó took control of the Assembly.
“The oppressive forces of the dictatorship did not want to allow us to enter. There are not two oppositions or parliaments, there is only one country. Only one country that is honest, hardworking and willing to continue fighting,” said the also president of the National Assembly.
