Venezuelan President Juan Guaidó attends President Trump’s State of the Union address as guest of honor.
The event, which takes place in Washington, is attended by war veterans, relatives of fallen soldiers and prominent officials, who tend to occupy the special seats.
The speech is also used for the president to present his legislative proposals for the year.
Ivan Simonovis, special commissioner for security and intelligence at the embassy in the United States, also attended the event as an official of the legitimate government of Venezuela.
Guaidó is the first Venezuelan president in history to be invited to the State of the Union address.
