The President of the Republic, Juan Guaidó, met this Thursday with the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro.
The Venezuelan leader said he thanked him, on behalf of all Venezuela, for his support to the Venezuelan democratic cause.
“In our meeting with OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro, we expressed the gratitude of the Venezuelan people for the firm determination he has had with our cause,” Guaidó said through his personal Twitter account.
He also reiterated that he continues to support the work that the OAS does for Venezuela and the entire continent.
“The OAS reiterates its rejection of any electoral fraud, and will continue to press for the freedom of our country and for Venezuelans to have free presidential elections,” he ended.
For his part, Luis Almagro, in his short and direct statements to the media said “we have a lot of work to do to recover democracy in Venezuela.”
The meeting between Almagro and Guaidó took place in the vicinity of the OAS in Washington.
