The President in charge of the Republic, Juan Guaidó, received this Saturday at the Cibeles Town Hall, Madrid, the Golden Key of the city, a usual distinction given by the Town Hall to the heads of state.
During the ceremony, President Guaidó thanked Spain for its gesture to the struggle he leads and denounced the scourges Venezuelans experience daily at the hands of Maduro’s dictatorship.
“Today I humbly receive this gift on behalf of all Venezuelans who suffer day by day. For the teachers who insist on educating in spite of everything. For the nurses who stood up for freedom,” said Guaidó.
Likewise, he ratified his commitment to achieve the exit of the usurper regime and the reestablishment of constitutional order in Venezuela.
“Democracy is always at risk and it is the citizens’ job to maintain it,” he added.
