The President in charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, held a meeting on Friday with the Head of the Austrian Government, Sebastian Kurz, in the framework of the Davos Economic Forum.
During the meeting, Kurz reiterated his support to Juan Guaidó and expressed his concern about the situation that Venezuela is currently experiencing.
“Thank you, Juan Guaidó, for this inspiring meeting and for the first-hand account of recent developments in Venezuela. You can count on Austria’s support in your fight for free and fair presidential elections to restore democracy,” said the Austrian leader.
For his part, William Davila Valeri, Head of the Venezuelan Diplomatic Mission in Austria, thanked for such a gesture since it speaks of an opening between countries in spite of all the attempts of Nicolas Maduro’s regime to distort and hinder the work that Juan Guaidó has been carrying out in the company of all his diplomatic corps in the different countries.
“Great meeting between the Austrian head of government, Sebastian Kurz, President (E) Guaidó. We appreciate all the support that the Austrian government has given from the beginning to the recovery of democracy in Venezuela. I foresee a great relationship between our countries,” he said.
It is important to point out that the Austrian head of government was one of the first world leaders to give his support to the President in charge, Juan Guaidó from 2019; support that has been reaffirmed today with this meeting.
