“Clear and transparent” said the President (e) of Venezuela and the National Assembly (AN), Juan Guaidó, will be the investigation that will be undertaken in Parliament on the recent public denunciations made against members of the Permanent Comptrollership Commission, published last Sunday, December 01 in a digital news portal.

The information was given at the beginning of the ordinary session on Tuesday, December 3rd, where he took the floor to ratify that the NA “rises immediately to not tolerate any case of corruption,” so he proposed the creation of a Special Commission “to take seriously, urgently and deeply the clarification of the facts reported and establish the individual responsibilities due.”

Guaidó supported Duque’s speech at TIAR: “We must act cohesively”

“Today our children starve to death because of the damned corruption that has plagued Venezuela for years. I ask Venezuelans to see the radical difference between the actions of the interim government, which immediately gives answers and orders an investigation; unlike the dictatorship, which after 20 years has not investigated, discussed or debated any case of corruption in which they have been involved, such as Odebrecht, PDVSA, among others.

Guaidó said that since there could be members of the Permanent Comptrollership Commission, who would have issued documents through which several companies and citizens were released without justification, from having carried out an inadequate management of public resources, in the food supply program developed by the usurper regime known as the Local Supply and Production Committee, CLAP, he considers necessary the creation of this Special Commission.

This request was made in his capacity as President (e) of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and President of the National Assembly, in use of the powers granted to him by numeral 11 of article 27 of the Rules of Procedure and Debate of the National Assembly, in accordance with article 42 ejusdem.

The Special Commission will have a maximum period of 15 days to carry out the parliamentary investigation to determine the responsibilities to be assigned. In the process of investigation that they will initiate immediately, they will be able to order the fulfillment of all the inquiries and expert appraisals that are required, as well as the evacuation of all type of documentary evidence, testimonials of any nature necessary for the clarification of the facts to be investigated.

They must also respect the constitutional rights of presumption of innocence and the right to defense that must be granted to the deputies who have been publicly named, as well as to all those persons who in the course of the investigation could be indicted or have incurred in the violation of the legal order, which could determine some type of responsibility in case of there being any.

“This National Assembly and its Board of Directors, we must be fair to the innocent but implacable with those whose guilt is proven, so it is inadmissible not to do what we are supposed to do: investigate, determine the facts and responsibilities. We cannot cover up anyone who has deviated from his obligations, that is how the usurper regime acts, not us”.

A Solid AN

President Guaidó said that Parliament is a solid institution that has tried to be vilified by the dictatorship.

“Here the Parliament and will remain solid. Today the parliamentarians continue defending the citizens who trust in the National Assembly, in the republican moral structure of a country that wants and needs answers to its needs.”

He also thanked the deputies for “continuing to resist and continue facing” Venezuelans, despite persecution by the regime.
