The eyes of the world are still on Venezuela. Numerous presidents of America gathered at a meeting within the framework of the 74th General Assembly of the United Nations Organization (UN), to address the Venezuelan crisis and how it affects the region.
The President (E) of the Republic, Juan Guaidó, thanked the leaders who raised their voice in favor of Venezuela through their social networks. “The freedom of Venezuela is fundamental to the stability of nations”, he said.
The national president thanked his Ecuadorian counterpart, Lenín Moreno, for his words about the struggle that is being carried out for democracy. “May the historical ties between our peoples strengthen us in the transcendental challenge we have”, he wrote.
Guaidó also recognized the leadership and determination of the president of the United States, Donald Trump.
“On behalf of the Venezuelan people, I recognize the leadership and determination of President Donald Trump in joining us towards the return of democracy in Venezuela. We will keep working as partners to achieve freedom”, said the president of Parliament.
He also reiterated his commitment together with Colombia and with President Duque in the fight against narcoterrorism.
“My recognition in his struggle (Duke) against drug trafficking under Maduro’s regime and his commitment to the welfare of Venezuela and Colombia”, he said.
The President in charge assured his Colombian counterpart that he can count with the legitimate government of Venezuela “to put an end to this scourge that affects the peace of the region.”
“I appreciate the clarity and firmness with which President Sebastian Piñera has spoken regarding the situation in Venezuela and the route we took to achieve solutions,” the Venezuelan president told his Chilean partner.
He also assured him to be united and committed to a change “which is a common cause in the region.”
